Cleaning Your Hat
Step-by-step instructions for spot cleaning & hand washing
For sweatband buildup, use a cotton swab dampened with a 50/50 mix of water and white vinegar. It lifts odors and salt stains without damaging fabric or structure.

Common Questions
We strongly recommend against machine washing. The agitation and heat can warp the brim, break down structure, and fade colors. Hand spot cleaning is always the safest method.
Lightly dampen the brim with cool water, then gently reshape by hand. Hold or pin it in place until fully dry. A flat brim board or curved brim guide helps maintain your preferred style.
Use a soft cloth or toothbrush with a mild soap solution and gently scrub the interior sweatband. A mixture of equal parts water and white vinegar also works well. Rinse and air dry fully before wearing again.
We recommend using our Hat Carrier to protect your hat during travel. It keeps the structure intact and prevents crushing or deformation in luggage.
Common Questions
No — machine washing can damage the structure, hardware, and materials of the carrier. Stick to spot cleaning with a damp cloth and mild soap for best results.
Capacity varies by carrier model. Always follow the recommended capacity — overpacking stresses the seams and zippers, and may distort your hats inside.
Apply a small amount of zipper lubricant, beeswax, or even a pencil tip along the zipper teeth. Gently work the zipper back and forth to distribute it. Avoid forcing a stuck zipper as this can cause damage.
Many of our hat carriers are designed with travel in mind. Check your carrier's dimensions against current airline carry-on policies. We recommend placing it in an overhead bin with the crown side up to protect your hats.
